10/17 Went back this week and same staff was there that seem to be there every day. I wonder if they are getting any time off.

The cook seemed punchy and tired and I had to repeat everything to her and the girl at the register twice. I also had to correct the cashier exactly what I was purchasing.

Service still sucks at La Tortilla. The food was good, but it's a taco stand and it is what it is.

At least this time there was no over salted beans...

Went back to LVAC's Juice Bar a couple days later and decided to try the same thing. New guy at the counter while the woman who got the order a little confused was working in the background.

"Juice bar Punch" for $5.25
I was asked if I wanted Whey Protein or Soy Protein and while I said what ever came with the shake, I paused and asked: "What is the difference?"

Answer: "Soy protein comes from soy beans and whey comes from wheat."

....Yes, he was correct. If you think that was the answer I hoped for - so wrong.

...If you think that was the answer I expected - also wrong.

Do we not know the difference of the proteins and the relevance to product you are selling in the environment?

Sorry it took so long to note this, but the next day I got a note from Marty Bees representing the juice bar. It was a very proactive move following an email complaint I made to LVAC.

We take alot of pride in our product and do like to hear comments on how we are doing. Your experience yesterday was definitely something that I am very concerned about. After investigating this situation, this is what I came up with. The girl working had no right to assume that you wanted the smoothie with whey protein. She also has a problem communicating. Because of this situation she is no longer working the counter and will be repremanded. I would like to apologize that you had this experience, and at the same time thank you for letting us know. - Marty Bees, Juice Bar Owner

The response was shockingly prompt, but the juice bar as a captured audience in the clubs that I am sure they do not want to put at risk. I can appreciate the need to make sure their customers are comfortable with buying their drinks.
Remember, I personally loved the protein drinks I have had there. I do think they are a little expensive but not a bad value at all. I especially love it that if there is a touch too much for the serving cup, they give it to you in a small cup too.
Check them out and check out their web site: www.juicebarinlvac.com

Apparently the restaurant has been open for fourteen years. I strongly suspect it was owned by someone else and bought out by a foreign investor who thought they were getting a prewrapped money machine and for greed or overhead they cut corners for quality.

I spoke to someone in the community about flippe

rs who at first described the place as decent, but after moments of discussion their local rating drooped horribly.

Once more, the avid foursquare.com user I am... their ratings are scary. It sits in
